Homotoxicology

What is homotoxicology?

A way towards self-healing of the body

Homotoxicology is a form of modern homeopathy that considers the disease is the expression of the body’s biological defense against Homotoxins (exogenous and / or endogenous, terms for all toxins harmful to humans).

Homotoxicology represents an attempt to compensate damages caused by toxins. Its concept is based on the notion of body’s progressive intoxication, reported through six evolutionary stages.

The "low dose" homotoxicological drugs have a stimulating effect on the regulatory mechanisms and self-healing powers of the human body.

They act not only on the symptoms, but also stimulate the detoxifying functions of the lymphatic system, connective tissues and other organs and apparatuses.

Homotoxicology, a modern variation of homeopathy

Homotoxicology is the study of the influence of toxic substances on the human body.

The term homotoxicology comes from "homo" which means man (homo sapiens), "toxico" which means toxin or poison and "logy", from the Greek word "logos" which means study.

Homotoxicology is a modern trend of homeopathy, from German school, born in the 30s. It represents an alternative medicine between academic medicine, conventional, looking after symptoms and disease, and non-conventional medicine, which consider the whole patient.

From the first, it borrows the precision of the medical history as well as laboratory and instrumental diagnostics.

From the second it maintains a comprehensive approach to health and as for homeopathy, it uses drug doses diluted in a complex form.

Its basic principle: the ability of each body to regulate alone its functioning

One of the fundamental principles of Homotoxicology is based on the ability of the body to maintain or restore alone its homeostasis: a condition of physiological balance and health.

To maintain a state of well-being, the body needs to release toxins through the stool, urine, sweat, breath and secretions.

Homotoxicology encourages the removal of toxins

By stimulating the immune system and various organs, Homotoxicology encourages rapid removal of toxic factors, so that the body won’t suffer its harmful effects and avoids a medical condition.

Therapy of low doses

L’homotoxicologie est appelée la “thérapie des basses doses”, son approche consiste en des médicaments homéopathiques dilués, qui sont prescrits par un médecin expert en homotoxicologie en fonction de la réaction de l’organisme du patient examiné.

The concept of disease in homotoxicology:

Disease is defined as Homotoxicosis or state of intoxication caused by substances harmful to man (homo-toxins): metabolism releases - which have not been eliminated by physiological emunctories.

These releases can be of various kinds: bacteria, viruses, toxins, carcinotoxines, iatrogenic drugs, additives in food, preservatives, dyes, pesticides and other harmful substances incompatible with health.

Disease is a defensive response of the body against the homotoxins that are burned by inflammation; it is also an attempt to compensate for damage caused by homotoxins on organs and tissues.

What are homotoxins?

The essential element is homotoxin interference with the normal functioning of regulatory systems (the hormonal system, nervous system, immune system ...).

  • Exogenous homotoxins are for example tobacco, alcohol, the different drugs, dyes, sweeteners, food additives, pesticides, VOC ("Volatile Organic Compound"), lead, cadmium, certain glues ‘vapor, gases, radiation ...
  • Endogenous homotoxins created in the body itself, are mostly intermediate metabolites or metabolic processes ‘waste (for example CO2).
  • Other endogenous homotoxins are due to an imbalance of hormonal secretions caused by the body itself.

"The bacterium is nothing. It’s the ground that is everything, "Claude Bernard, 19th Century

In the 19th century Claude Bernard developed the "internal field" terminology or humoral environment. He was referring to the direct cell’s environment, both structural and physiological. The cell’s quality of life is determined by the purity of its environment since it is where it feeds and takes energy, but also where it deposits its waste.

Even Louis Pasteur, the discoverer of microorganisms in modern medicine, mentions Claude Bernard when he writes that a bacterial infection is due more to changes in the internal environment than to the presence of bacteria or other micro-organisms.

This internal environment is the living matrix, or fundamental substance, composed of three matrix levels which merge one into the other:

  • the extracellular matrix,
  • the intracellular matrix,
  • the nuclear matrix.

The matrix, a true spider web

Main components of the matrix:

The main components of the matrix are collagen, elastin, proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans

The matrix is the place where the arterial capillaries end and venous capillaries begin.

The lymphatic system, also, collects its content in the matrix and is thus a parallel transport system to the venous system.

Nerves end and begin in the matrix, triggering nervous signals or gathering information.

In addition to these components we find defense cells such as macrophages and mast cells to take care of, clean and defend the body.

Matrix: three-dimensional biophysical filter that controls the passage of cellular nutrients and waste, mediators and all other substances in the cellular environment

Homotoxins like fish in the jar of the matrix

Homotoxins also move in the matrix. The matrix can be compared to the aquarium water of a goldfish.

The cell’s quality of life depends on the liquid’s quality in which it is immersed like the one of the goldfish depends on water from the aquarium in which it lives. It will not only need food to survive, but also having the waste it produces itself cleaned up.

Hence the importance in homotoxicology of a matrix.

The 6 stages of disease progression:

Disease progression occurs in six phases, divided by the "biological line of delimitation."

In the first three phases, the damage is functional, beyond the delimitation line; in the last three phases we consider that there is a cellular damage.

Six phases of homotoxicoses:

  1. Excretion : Expulsion of toxic products
  2. Inflammation: Initiates cleaning activating the defense system
  3. Deposition : Storage of toxins in the extracellular space
  4. Biological delimitation line
  5. Impregnation: Intoxication becomes intracellular. Enzyme systems are affected
  6. Degeneration : Intoxication destroys the cell
  7. Dedifferentiation : The cell returns to the state of non-differentiated cell, creation of neoplasms

The classification in the Homotoxicosis table allows to diagnose and predict diseases and to choose the most appropriate medication.

The three pillars of homotoxicology are detoxification and drainage, immunomodulation, organ regulation and cellular activation. These three pillars are the vehicle we use to influence the defensive system and to have the patient migrate on the homotoxicoses table.
